It is recommended that consumers and caregivers remove expired, unwanted, or unused medicines from their home as quickly as possible to help reduce the chance that others accidentally take or intentionally misuse the unneeded medicine, and to help reduce drugs from entering the environment.
Now there is a medication disposal box available at your town hall. Thanks to a grant provided through Central Racine County Health Department, the Town of Dover was able to obtain a Medication Collection Box so medications can be safely disposed. There is 24/7 surveillance on the box and the surrounding area, as well as special lighting. The Racine County Sheriff’s Department will monitor and dispose of the medications as needed.
(Syringes or medical waste are not accepted.)
