You must be a Town of Dover resident with a current Trash & Recycling Permit to participate in this program.
Your permit must be displayed on your vehicle's dashboard when using the collection site.
Commercial businesses and contractors are not permitted to use the Town's Trash & Recycling Program.
Saturdays 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Every Saturday: Household trash and recycling are accepted.
Special collection items are accepted on designated Saturdays. Please refer to the back of your permit for the schedule.
Fees are payable to the attendant at the time of disposal.

Motor oil is accepted under the following conditions:
Place oil in a clear, one-gallon container with a twist-off cap.
Clearly label the container "Motor Oil."
Staff will direct you to the designated collection area.
All recyclables must be placed in a clear bag or an open bin.
Not Accepted for Recycling
The following items are not recyclable:
Garden hoses
Plastic pipe
Clocks
Plastic furniture
Plastic toys
Rope and twine
Mailboxes
Pottery
Agricultural, pesticide, herbicide, and Roundup containers
Pool chemical bottles
Diapers or fecal matter
Plastic hangers
Styrofoam
Paper towels, paper plates, and tissues
Plastic tarps
Empty paint cans
Ink cartridges
Plastic garden tools
Dishware
Aluminum foil
Construction materials include, but are not limited to:
Drywall
Doors
Shingles
Siding
Lumber
Windows
Boards
Carpet
Non-metal fencing
Hardware
Insulation
Other construction debris
Residents may dispose of up to six (6) 32-gallon cans or bags per calendar year. Amounts exceeding this limit must be disposed of through a private dumpster or another legal disposal method.
Examples include:
Mattresses
Couches
Bed frames (non-metal)
Lamps
Chairs
Dressers
Tables
Similar household furniture
All types of metal are accepted, including rechargeable batteries.
The following items cannot be collected:
Liquids
Hazardous materials
Chemicals
Paints (Latex paint is accepted only if completely solidified with sand or cat litter.)
Sharps
Yard waste
How do I obtain a permit?
Permits are available at the Town Hall Office during regular business hours.
Proof of residency is required. Acceptable documentation includes:
Wisconsin driver's license
Utility bill showing your Dover address
Closing documents
Lease agreement
How often are permits issued?
Permits are issued every two years.
The current permit is PURPLE and is valid through December 31, 2027.
Lost Permit
Replacement permits are available for a $25.00 fee.
