No, the Town Hall cannot accept payment for the fees.  PLEASE MAIL THEM TO THE ADDRESS ON THE INVOICE.

Permits can be obtained by stopping at the Town Hall Office during normal business hours.  Proof of residency is required such as a drivers license, a bill with the homeowners Dover address, closing paperwork or lease.

Permits are distributed every two years.  The current permit is "PURPLE" and will expire 12/31/27.  The permit can be picked up at the Town Hall Office.
The Town requests that you first talk to your neighbor The Racine County Sheriff's Office non-emergency number is (262) 886-2300. If you have a concern or wish to report a possible ordinance violation, call the non-emergency number to request that a deputy investigate and document your complaint. Sheriff's deputies have access to the Town of Dover's ordinances and, depending on the circumstances, may issue a warning or, when appropriate, a citation. Some of the most commonly enforced Town of Dover ordinances include:
  • Noise Ordinance #9.04  or Animal Noise Ordinance #8.36.040 J
  • Property Maintenance Ordinance #8.36 for excessively long grass, inoperable or unregistered vehicles, trash)
  • Parking Violations Ordinance #10.24
A Town of Dover Complaint Form may be submitted to report a concern. The complainant must sign the form; unsigned complaint forms will not be investigated.  Depending on the nature of the complaint, the matter may be investigated by Racine County’s Planning & Zoning Department, the Building Inspector, the Roads Superintendent, Central Racine County Health Department, or the Racine County Sheriff's Office. Please note that the investigation process takes time and varies depending on the circumstances.  If, following an investigation, the Town of Dover sends a certified letter to the property owner or other responsible party, that individual will have thirty (30) days from the date of the letter to correct the violation. Complaint Forms are available online in the Forms/Permits section of the Town of Dover website.

There is a secure drop box located by the Town Hall's sidewalk.  Please feel free to drop any forms/payments/letters concerning any town related business in the box.  Examples:  Payments of traffic tickets, Eagle Lake Sewer payments, or permit forms and payments.  The box is checked Monday through Friday.  Please include a self-addressed envelope if you would like a receipt etc.
